Mosquito Lagoon and Orlando Florida Fishing Report Feb 2007

Welcome to my first fishing report for Central Florida, Orlando and the World Famous Mosquito Lagoon. The reason behind doing a blog for Orlando fishing is to help others who are looking to go fishing while in Central Florida, a great place to find that special guide.

Fishing in the World Famous Mosquito Lagoon is normally slightly harder during the winters. While the waters are what we consider gin clear, the water levels are extremely low this winter. We have not seen the normal amount of rain, and the lagoon is shallow. Finding fish though at this time of year is not hard because of the water clarity, however getting them to eat this winter is a different story.

I have personally taken my 16' Gordon Boatworks Waterman
out a dozen or more times last month, finding several hundred redfish in spots others won't go because of the water levels. In one spot, several hundred redfish are stuck. By this I mean, these redfish can not get themselves out of the bar holding them in.
